How do I wear my hair and makeup?

When planning for your photo session, consider the aesthetic you are aiming for.

You may like to wear natural makeup; in which case we recommend avoiding highly reflective foundation. Ensure you have clean, styled hair on the day and check out your look in our mirror before the shoot begins.

For glamour shots, you may wear more dramatic makeup, depending on the look you desire. Consider whether you require a stylist to assist you with your hair and makeup. We need a week’s notice in order to arrange a stylist for your photoshoot, if this is required. Please refer to add-ons for the cost of this service.

What should I wear?

Ensure you wear an outfit you actually like and which fits well. In most cases, it is best to avoid loud and distracting patterns such as stripes and dots.

If you are unsure whether your planned outfit will work well in your photo, email us a photo of your outfit so we can assist you. You may like to bring different outfits to experiment with different looks during the photoshoot. Perhaps bring a casual, a semi-formal and a formal outfit; or simply a blazer to mix up your style. Generally, your clothes need to be pressed and wrinkle free, so it is advisable to change into your outfit when you arrive.

For corporate headshots, dress for the job you want. Stick with solid-coloured tops because they are more flattering and less distracting in photographs. Jackets and collared shirts are highly recommended. In general, you want solid colour and high contrast outfits. For example, white shirt and dark blue blazer.

Do you recommend accessories?

Adding glasses, a quirky hat or stunning jewelry can elevate your image. Give accessories some thought and bring with you on the day. Check your glasses are clean.

How can I look my best?

Get 8 hours sleep the night before. Use eye drops to freshen your eyes and take away redness,

Look back on past photos and consider what you like about these images. Is it the pose? Is it the colour you are wearing? Communicate your preferences to our photographer. We would love to see photos of you from the past which you liked. Bring these photos on your phone with you to your session.
